After this lesson, you can
- Explain the different jobs of a website, Facebook, LINE, and Google Business Profile.
- Describe the value of a stable address and structured business information.
- Set honest expectations about traffic, ranking, and business results.
Different channels do different jobs
A local business may already use Facebook, LINE, Instagram, TikTok, or Google Business Profile. Those channels remain useful.
The website has a different job. It gives the business one stable address where customers can find approved information without searching through a feed or old messages.
What social channels do well
Social channels are useful for:
- reaching people who already use the platform;
- posting frequent updates, photos, and promotions;
- receiving comments and direct messages;
- building an audience through sharing and recommendations.
Their reach, layout, account rules, and content visibility are controlled by the platform. An old post can quickly disappear below newer content.
What a website adds
A website can provide:
- one address for business cards, QR codes, ads, and social profiles;
- a clear explanation of services, products, prices, hours, and location;
- information arranged for reading instead of a chronological feed;
- a professional business identity using the owner’s domain;
- pages that Search and AI systems can read as structured business information;
- a contact route that does not depend on one social account.
The business can point every channel to the same website, while each channel continues doing what it does best.
Ownership matters
A social profile is an account inside another company’s platform. A website with a business domain is an asset the business can keep using across channels.
The domain, business accounts, and approved content should remain under the business owner’s name or an explicitly authorized business account. A Partner should never register those assets in the Partner’s own name.
What a website does not promise
A website does not automatically create visitors, enquiries, bookings, or sales. It also does not guarantee a search position.
It creates a clear destination that advertising, social media, Search, AI discovery, QR codes, and personal recommendations can send people to. Results still depend on demand, competition, promotion, reputation, and the quality of the offer.
A useful way to think about it
Facebook and social media: attention and conversation
LINE: direct relationship and follow-up
Google Business Profile: local discovery and map presence
Website: stable address, structured information, and owned identity
These channels work together. The goal is not to replace all of them with one website.
